For more than a year, our emergency facility has been providing day services such as meals, clothing, hygiene products, camping gear, job-hunting resources, referrals, free counseling, and friendship.  Since Oct. 30, 2007, we have expanded our range of services to include overnight sleeping quarters for 32 men, hot showers, laundry facilities, and access to medical and dental care.

Life Change Program

We also now offer a Life Change Program to the men living under our roof.   Our first group is more than halfway through the one-year program.  Our second group is about one-third of the way through it.  We recently held an award ceremony to honor their progress.

The main components of our program include discipleship, Bible study, a 10-step Christian recovery program, and a goal-setting class.  Programmers are also expected to do chores, help keep the mission running, and volunteer at least 10 hours a week.  Men commit to one year of working on their lives and their personal relationships with God.  The concept behind this commitment is tearing down failed coping mechanisms and building new ways of thinking and living.  We work to break the painful cycles of disappointment and failure and trade them for hope, healing, and restoration.  As Isaiah 61:1-3 shows, Jesus came to set free those who are held captive by a destructive life.  We seek to walk in His footsteps.

The mission is closed to the public on Sundays. We encourage you to find another place of worship, and food is served at the Bend Community Center at NE 5th and Kearney between 1 and 5 PM.
