About Us
Overview:
The Shepherd's House is a non-profit organization that has been operating for over 3 years within Central Oregon. The ministry leased the current mission location in summer of 2006. We opened for day services in spring of 2007, offering meals, clothing, hygiene items, etc., for men, women, and children. On October 30, 2007, we realized our dream of housing men over night.
Mission:
The purpose of The Shepherd’s House is to grow disciples of Jesus Christ by ministering to and serving those in need while sharing God’s hope, faith, and love, bringing them to a place of restoration and empowering them to become productive members of our society.
Values:
We believe every person has meaning and purpose in life and has been gifted talents to support and serve their family, neighbors, and communities.
We believe every person in Central Oregon should have the opportunity to become self-sufficient in order to meet their basic physical needs; therefore, it is important for our community to serve those that could use a hand up during this season in their lives.
We believe lives are reformed and communities are healthy and vibrant when the people's values and character are built on a foundation of truth.
Vision:
The Shepherd's House meets peoople where they are... and restores them for where they are going...
Goals:
The Shepherd's House goals are to consistently reach out to men, women, and children that are struggling with poverty, develop partnerships with other non-profit and profitable organizations to offer services, and to operate effectively and efficiently with utmost integrity and transparency.
Our immediate goal is to continue providing an emergency facility to disburse supplies and offer services to those in need. The Shepherd's House is also in the process of identifying a residential facility to purchase and develop a restoration program that would restore men to become productive members of our society.
Operations:
The Shepherd’s House ministry operates three facilities to meet the needs of Central Oregon. The Emergency Shelter is open for men, women, and children during the day and only for men in the evening. The Thrift Store is to give residents opportunities for employment in addition to providing financially to our operations. All facilities are operated independently of each other for daily operations, but do share in overall management costs for efficiencies.
